Notice of Annual General Meeting 

Tuggeranong Football Club – Annual General Meeting (AGM)

The Tuggeranong Football Club Inc will hold it’s 2019 AGM on Monday 11th November 2019 at 7:00pm in the Pavilion at Greenway Oval.  The nomination form for a position/s on the Board is attached.

Nominations should be submitted to Club Secretary Kristie Chynoweth at secretary@tuggeranongfc.com.au and will close 7:00pm on Monday 4th November 2019.

 

Nominations for Life Membership

The Board is seeking nominations for life membership of our club. A life members is a member elected as such at an Annual General Meeting on the recommendation of the Board in recognition of meritorious service to the Club. Nominations, with a brief paragraph supporting the nomination for life membership should be forwarded to Kristie Chynoweth at secretary@tuggeranongfc.com.au by 31st October 2019.

2020 Womens Coaches and Manangers

 

The Tuggeranong Hawks will be fielding a Senior Women’s First Grade and a Community Grade women’s side in the 2020 Canberra AFL season and are calling for Expressions of Interest for the positions of Head Coach, Assistant Coach and Manager in regards to both teams. If you’re interested in coaching or just helping out please send your EOI to secretary@tuggeranongfc.com.au by 5pm on Wednesday 13 November or contact Club President Leo Lahey on 0432268290 for further information.

NEW SENIOR COACH

The Tuggeranong Hawks are pleased to announce Jimmy Rice as the Head Coach of Senior Football for the 2020/21 Canberra AFL seasons.  With in excess of 300 First Grade/NEAFL games played, over 200 of which were with the Tuggeranong Football Club, Jimmy brings a wealth of playing experience,  including three recent senior premierships with the Ainslie Football Club.  Jimmy has extensive Senior coaching experience in Canberra and Narranderra, including coaching the Narranderra Imperial Eagles Football Netball Club to a drought breaking premiership in 2012 and being named the 2017 AFL Canberra Senior Coach of the Year, and more recently was the Senior Assistant Coach during Ainslie’s 2018 and 2019 First Grade premierships.  Jimmy has also been an Assistant Coach with the GWS Giants Academy for the past five years demonstrating a strong commitment to developing young AFL players in the ACT and South Coast NSW Regions.  The former ACT and Riverina representative player has agreed to taking on the role after an exhaustive selection process.  

 

For the past two seasons, Club Legend and Life Member, Peter “Yoey” Ashcroft has performed the role as Senior Coach of the Tuggeranong Hawks in very difficult circumstances and the Club will be forever indebted to him for his commitment and dedication.  Yoey is obviously disappointed but still remains a much loved and highly respected leader at the Hawks and the Club and would like to express our sincere gratitude and appreciation for everything he has done over his significant career and look forward to his continuing involvement in years to come.
