MENS HEAD COACHES

Paul is an experienced development coach having coached Tuggeranong and Marist juniors from 2005 to 2019, and in Giants Academy programs from 2012 to 2023.

From 2021 to 2023, Paul was an Assistant Coach to Jimmy Rice in the TVAFNC Senior Men’s team.

Paul’s approach to coaching is to create a fun environment for players, and encourage them to believe in themselves, take risks, and care for their team-mates.
Paul is confident that the Club now has the necessary building-blocks in place (both on and off the field) to allow it to become more competitive, and begin to climb up the ladder.

Sam has had experience playing for Tuggeranong, GWS Academy, GWS Giants VFL.
He has since retired from playing in 2022.

Sam's coaching philosophy is to bring out the best in every player/individual so they can reach their potential.

Sam wants to build a more professional, hard-working environment at the club where players can reach their potential, allowing us to climb up the ladder and be
competitive with the best in Canberra.

Stephen is an experienced coach who this year will be coaching his 15th seasons of AFL, across Tuggeranong Junior and Senior teams.

Stephen was the last Tuggeranong coach to take a team in to the finals, finishing 4th in the 2022 home and away season with the 2nd grade women’s team. He is also the coach of the successful ACT Women’s Masters team leading them to 2nd in 2022 and 1st in 2023, at the National Championship.

In 2023, Stephen worked with Jimmy Rice in the TVAFNC Senior Men’s Team and will be working closely with Paul and Sam, to continue to grow and build the TVAFNC brand in 2024.

Stephen’s coaching style focuses on player enjoyment and development. He is more focused on how the team plays rather than the result, believing that the results will come once we learn to play as a team
